So it happened after Norton revamped their whole suites (New GUI, Cloud technology such as Sonar etc.).
Yeah, I guess so. I wouldn't know as I never intend to infect any computer I own with a Symantec product again, ever.
I agree with you. When I bought my Dell notebook, it came with McAfee. As I had still 1/2 year HMP license, I decided to give it a try. It twice as heavy as Kaspersky or any other AV.
I think that the more recent versions of McAfee are lighter than they were, especially those with the new UI. I don't know how they compare with others though.
My answer in no. I have currently installed McAfee Enterprise, as for my company's policy. With W7 works quite ok (even if I cannot start Opera if I do not turn off on-access scan) with with XP was a disaster, very often overloading CPU.
No. In several AV tests that I have reviewed, McAfee has not performed at what I would consider to be an 'acceptable' level.
It seems like a lot of new PC's come with a 30 day Trial of McAfee. I think that most people will go ahead and pay McAfee their inflated price at the end of the 30 day Trial and will continue to renew each year at the inflated price.
It's seems to be that it's widely used at workplaces. If that's their prime market, then there's no wonder...
Yeah i know, in fact i used to work in a company with over a thousand PC's running XP and W7. All of them were running McAfee Enterprise.
