 Don't be playing cute with high blood pressure, it will cause you serious problems if you do. All of the four medications I take daily are related to this situation. I see my doctor once every three months and the situation is monitored, and it will be this way for as long as I remain on this planet.
    110/78

    Thanks

    Nothing to wine about

A DIET recommending you eat 100g of chocolate a day and drink red wine, which will add six years to your life - is this for real?

Scientists in Australia and The Netherlands have come up with a diet they claim will cut a person's risk of heart disease by 78 per cent.
And the good news is, you'll want to be on it.

The diet focuses on seven foods that have been proven to reduce cholesterol and blood pressure.

It involves daily consumption of 150ml of red wine, which has been found to cut heart disease risk by 32 per cent.

Chocaholics line up, because you have to consume 100g of dark chocolate per day, an amount the scientists calculate will reduce blood pressure.

i posted this topic after reading the latest research on BP - Many of us often take our health for granted in a way we wouldn't if for example we were dealing with a car.

Just as it's advisable to check the oil once in a while so a simple BP check might give an indication of the state of one's cardio vascular system - thereby preventing problems from developing.

now i'm off to stock up on red wine and chocolate :D

    Hi Rita,

That does appear to be on the lower side.

Hope you are taking proper diet and looking up on the doc once in a while.

What about the drink consumed the most in the world after water - tea.

According to a new study of Chinese tea drinkers , drinking as little as a half-cup of green or oolong tea per day may lower the risk of high blood pressure by nearly 50%,

Based on the results of their study, researchers say the minimum tea consumption needed to provide blood pressure-reducing benefits appears to be a half-cup per day of green or oolong tea for at least one year.

Let us add Tea also to our diet of wine/chocs/fish/garlic etc

However , I have a thesis - widely held but untested - that Everything taken in moderation is fine ; Anything taken in excess is detrimental.

Blood Pressure is the only thing I have as a medical issue. Meds. control it just fine. I seem to live on a different "plane" then most. The only time I rest or relax is when my eyes are closed as in sleep. :D

  18. Last time I checked it was 210 over 125, or there abouts.

If I can only find that last slice of pizza in the frige, turn on the tele and sleep on the sofa for a week, I'll be OK. It does go a little higher during sex, but right now that does not seem to be a serious problem.

210/125 is seriously high! You are in danger of a stroke or heart attack.

Mine was 110/80 last time I checked and I have to stay on medication to keep it down.

This very true!! They now consider 120/80 the high side of normal!!

Mine sits at 110/68 with meds and at times 96/58 which is ok but if it goes below 50 for a period of time the Kidneys could shut down. *puppy*
