I have F-Secure from Optus Cable in Australia.

These are the programmes listed in 'About'.

    F-Secure Browser Control 1.01 build 160
    F-Secure Internet Shield 5.91 build 210
    F-Secure Anti-Virus 6.11 build 11510
    F-Secure Automatic Update Agent 6.90 build 897
    F-Secure Email Scanner 5.60 build 262
    F-Secure Management Agent 6.05 build 8452
    F-Secure System Control 1.01 build 176
    F-Secure Parental Control 5.00 build 160
    F-Secure Spam Control 1.02 build 2101
    F-Secure User Interface 6.20 build 350

Am I right in thinking they have given us F-Secure 2006 and not 2007 that has Deepguard?

    erm,

when you open the program, it clearly states:

    "F-Secure 2006"
    or
    "F-Secure 2007"

you should not need to go searching anywhere for the version.

    Most likely it's 2006.
I recall that FSAV 6.11 (11510) belongs to v.2006 if memory serves me correctly.

Good call Namor, my satellite internet company did the same thing. They rebranded it as "Wildblue Security Center" though all it consisted of was just the AV (2006).

You're not paying for the subscription, it's free for 12 months.

True, but they are getting 720AUD p.a. off me for the internet service.

Personally, I think it's bad form to offer old technology. They should have done a deal to give us the latest free for a year and then I would happily pay.

Instead they gave us old technology that will go out of support next year, and have indicated we may have to pay a $7 fee p.a. to keep it.

As it is I have downloaded the F-Secure evaluation and if all goes well I will buy it.

Unfortunately for Optus, I now don't feel as loyal to them and will open my eyes to DSL2+.

But, that's me. Others may have different opinions.
