My wife has been given an oldish laptop (W95) which she is going to use for Word and e-mails. The anti-virus was months out of date, and I have sorted that, and I have also installed LNS. However, although it appeared to install without error, when you try to run it I get the following error 'The FWAPI.DLL file is linked to missing export MFC42.DLL:6467. This means nothing to me so I would appreciate guidance.
"Why do I have an error message when Look 'n' Stop starts ? If the error you have is one of these: - The FWAPI file is linked to missing export MFC42.DLL:6467 - The LOOKNSTOP.EXE file is linked to missing export: 6905 - The ordinal 6905 could not be located in the dynamic link library MFC42.DLL The MFC42.dll file of your Windows® configuration is a bit too old. You will find a more recent version here: http://www.looknstop.com/mfc42.zip To update this file, quit all applications. The file mfc42.dll file is in the c:\windows\system folder. Rename it to mfc42.old, and then unzip the new file in c:\windows\system. If you can not rename it, try again after restarting your computer."
