    Hi Lithp,

I'm sorry. Did you mean to link to some article or paste something in to your post? Otherwise, I'm not sure I understand it's purpose exactly?

    Best Wishes,

Would you care rephrasing that into something readable?
    Thanks Blazie.

Boss, you make me proud :D

    METALLICA LYRICS

    Disposable Heroes

Bodies fill the fields I see, hungry heroes end
No one to play soldier now, no one to pretend
running blind through killing fields, bred to kill them all
Victim of what said should be
    a servant 'til I fall

    Soldier boy, made of clay
    now an empty shell
    twenty one, only son
    but he served us well
Bred to kill, not to care
    just do as we say
    finished here, Greeting Death
    he's yours to take away

    Back to the front
you will do what I say, when I say
    Back to the front
you will die when I say, you must die
    Back to the front
    you coward
    you servant
    you blindman

    ..............

    Regards,

    Pieter

Although the subject is perfectly to my liking ;) I would like to know why this topic was started and where the relation to the board, computers or security comes in.
Otherwise I would have to close this one after which it would be deleted later on.
So is Metallica writing a trojan called Disposable Hero?
    Let me know.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Hi my friend,

I can´t even get the normal ones to work :'(
But believe me, if they exist I will track them down for you (and myself).

Hey, I guess finally someone made this thread go about something computer-related. LOL.

    Thnx Metallica,

    Pieter

    Easy!
TDS > SS3 > Load script > User Submitted > Wayne > Jukebox.SS3 doubleclick and now fingers crossed you can find such a file on your system and that it wants to play.
If not from your My Music folder, try with one file you put in C:\ and look if the Windows basic sound system wants to play it.
Might depend on the format the file is in so play a bit with that function.

As SS3 is sooooooooo rare and most certainly not a music file format, hmmmmmm
There ae various scripts calling wav and midi files to play, but you might find some of those examples in the private forum, if you don't have the CokeMachine already installed in which are some examples too.
Or you can make a jukebox form with several buttons under each a file to play. It's so easy.............
    Good luck!

    Jooske,

    It doesn´t matter which ss3 I doubleclick.
    Nothing happens. o_O
Is this XP? Do I have to wait for TDS-4?
Not that I mind. Lots of other things to learn.
You´re all just making me curious what you can do with these scripts.

    Regards,

    Pieter

Do you have the windows Scripting Host enabled?
    Little test:
    Type in the console bottom
    msgbox "metallica"
    enter
this should give in the middle on your screen a small messagebox with an OK button and the text Metallica in it.
If not, you'll have to get the Windows Script 5.6 or if there is a more recent one at the Windows site for your language version and i'm not sure if there are versions for the XP.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/downloads/default.asp?url=/downloads/sample.asp?url=/msdn-files/027/001/733/msdncompositedoc.xml
First try to get this msgbox on your screen.

    Hi all,
I like Metallica, especially their first four albums. Just thought I would put some lyrics in here to see who would recognize them. I'm sorry if I breached protocol. I thought this was a general chit-chat forum.

    Not a problem Lithp!

It's just there wasn't any explanation as to what it meant or what it was about, and for those of us who don't know Metallica, well, let's just say "Inquiring minds wanted to know." ;)

I had just thought you might have forgotten to add some link or some such thing, that was the only reason I posted.

No reason to apologize Lithp ;)
    This forum's description is: "ten-forward:
a place to hang out, where (almost) anything goes.." so there was no breach of protocol.
Sometimes the best ideas spring to mind when brainstorming without the restrictions of staying on topic. :)
Thank you for your contribution and explaining what you wanted to achieve with it and time will tell where it leads us.

No Jooske, I gave up again. Even after installing that Windows scripting stuff (which should have been on my computer anyway) I couldn't even get that msgbox to work
Like I stated in another thread my computer is hanging on by his last threads.
As soon as all these expected upgrades: TDS, Wormguard, Adaware and a few more that I'm using are available, I will format that drive and start over fresh.
The register has been collecting garbage for over two years, so that's due anyway. I must have installed and uninstalled hundreds of programs during that time, and lots of other thingies ;)

    Regards,

    Pieter

I almost feel silly asking this question, but do you use a regcleaner?
Someone, somewhere recommended a cleaner called RegSeeker at http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm
I'm using it, and it seems more powerful than JV16 Powertools, and so far I haven't had any problems (about a month).

I can't find the silly question, so I'll answer the smart one ;)
I do use JV16 and Total Uninstall, but there is no way (although some may claim Ashampoo comes close) to get everything cleaned up. And then I'm not taking into account what the updates from Microsoft do to your system.
Since this place has become my favorite hangout I have learned about (and tried) so many programs I have lost count :D

    Regards,

    Pieter
