Disk Director 10 and Vista Ultimate SP2 32 bit

I tried to run Disk Director 10 in Vista Ultimate SP2 32 bit. Windows gives error message that the program has compatibility issues and does not run in this version of Windows. I have upgraded DD10 to the latest version. I look on Acronis site. One place it says DD10 runs in Vista. Another place says it only runs in Vista 64bit. What is the status of DD10 and Vista? I'm amazed that I'm having this problem 7/4/2009.

I'm running build 2160 of Disk Director on Vista Ultimate 32-bit and have been for a couple of years now. Have you tried installing it by right-clicking on the installer and choosing "Run as administrator"?

 

I'm running build 2160 as well. I tried installing going through right click administrator. It did no good. I am logged on as an administrator as well.

 

Were you running DD okay in Vista SP1?

 

I finally got it to work. The upgrade version 2160 does not install to the same directory as my original version. Thus, when I uninstalled and reinstalled, the older version remained and conflicted with the newer version. I had to reinstall the old version and then uninstall it. I, then, rebooted and instilled only the upgrade 2160 version. This finally worked.

 

Just curious... what was the original version?

 

I don't have it installed anymore. It is the retail version I bought last November. The setup file gives product version 10.0.0.2077 so it is probably 2077.

 

Actually, I bought it way before last November but I don't really remember when.
