    The technology is nice and all, but why are power grids connected to the Internet in the first place? Why not a LAN or intranet instead?

    My thoughts exactly. One would think that something so important is separated from unsafe networks.

    Because they are STUPID :( And it's not just them that don't have isolated systems either. You would think it's still the 1990's etc the way so MANY companies & .GOV etc etc operate, & are Allowed to, & keep on making the same pathetic errors. Dorks :p

    What happens when someone figures out how to compromise these ants? They turn on our own network? They keep trying anything but the obvious, not putting vulnerable or critical systems where they can be attacked in the first place.

    Along time ago some one got the brilliant Idea to use house wiring as a antenna for TV, well this is a offshoot of that using power lines for the internet instead of Telephone lines.
