Well I thought after reinstalling Skyrim for a second time, and deleting all my saves, that the freezing had stopped. It did for a week, but now it has started again and happens within 10 minutes of playing.

I was wondering if there is any free tool I can use to see what is causing the freezing, if such a program exists.

@Skudo - It showed TESV was waiting on nothing in the wait chain. There weren't even any processes shown.

@Donaddams - That program is for the computer crashing; it's just Skyrim freezing.

Not exactly what you have asked but have you tried the Event Viewer if you are using Windows? It is found via Administrative Tools. It may lead to a clue as to what happened.

I did get an error event:

The program TESV.exe version 1.5.26.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel.

Just two other small ideas.......sometimes if the hardware is just at but not above the minimum required this may cause a problem. Secondly - a reinstall may produce better results while saving your user data in order not to lose any settings and resources you may already have. Usually the game's support forum can advise on a reinstall and which folders/files to save and re-use.

Sorry cannot be of more help. Best wishes.
