Sure that's great idea, though it cannot automatically isolate unknown processes (which all malware are) like DW does.

But one more plus to SBIE - I have never found it slowing down a system. DW slows down some comps, and is very light on others.

Always when i read about these two programs & the comparisons thrown back & forth I imagine my Windows with dead files and all sorts of rubbish lying around the floor just as if its a real home. DW refuses to sweep house yet SB is always 'Mr tidy shoes'. Reminds me of an old TV show called 'the odd couple'.

Assuming its important 'to clean house' how does one compensate for lacking the magical auto empty sandbox? Is CCleaner or Tune up's 1 click maintenance or JV16 needed here? Or is it something like MBAM or Emsisoft that tidies up?

Or are you guys trying to make my newly aquired DW seem inadequate?

You raised an interesting question but about it a bit later.

First of all, neither DW nor SBIE has their primary aim to clean the system. Then if you have DW and it goes well in your system then your are really safe and no need to regret about it. I hope you have DWPF.

    Then here's the question.
When I cleared the SBIE's sandbox there were sometimes up to 200 MB of trash files after closing browsers. I wonder than how those who don't have SBIE and don't clean system are not overfilled with this trash? I know such guys - just install an av and no other maintenance. And their comps don't feel bad as I see. Maybe this leftover issue is not so important? Who really knows the answer, please say.

the junk that get stuck in the system may slow the system down after the hard drive is full of junks and the registry full of debris:D then call the c-cleaner especialist to clean all the junk;)

Aalf, in my opinion, you got yourself some of the best protection money can buy.

    Be happy.

I am most pleased with DW. Except for a bit of drag on opening things. I much prefer it to my Sandboxie. As a 'non-enthusiast' end-user I don't see the beauty you guys do in sandboxie. DW conveys a better feeling of satisfaction that I'm 'secured'.

For me, the beauty about Sandboxie is that I know that when I close my computer, it is clean. In the three and a half years that I have been using the program, I have never run a scan because of "doubt". Never. I dont even have a on demand scanner anymore.

I could give you about 25 reasons why I preffer SBIE over DW but both are great. I am happy that you feel good about DW, theres no reason for you not to feel that way.

You are happy because you know where & what needs 'hog-tieing'. Novices & greenies don't. I look at it this way. We're off camping. When we get there Sand-boxers set about erecting the tent. Where as us DW city-folks just go & get the keys to the on-site cabin. :)
