Constantly getting false positives on DefenseWall. Can this issue be fixed please. When I restore from quarantine and select restore and exclude from scanning it does not work. Any other way to stop this? Thank you.

    Hello,

I downloaded the following programs from SoftSphere Technologies:

    SoftSphere Technologies DefencePlus v2.20 - DefencePlus_v2_20_setup.exe
SoftSphere Technologies DefencePlus Server Edition v2.20 - DefencePlus_v2_20_server_setup.exe
    SoftSphere Technologies DefenseWall HIPS v2.56 - DefenseWall_HIPS_v2_56.exe

and scanned them with ESET Smart Security v4.2 with threat signature database v4839 and did not receive any reports of malware.

Can you please explain in more detail how to reproduce this issue?

    Regards,

    Aryeh Goretsky

I have the latest version v3.00. It is still in Beta. 2.56 is okay.

The V3.0 Beta which is being flagged as Win32/Genetik trojan can be downloaded from the Softsphere site. There is a link in the first post of this Defensewall Support forum thread:

For me, NOD32 4.2 flags it as it is downloaded. I have to download & install with NOD32 realtime scanning disabled. Subsequently, the installed executable defensewall.exe is also quarantined.

It is also flagged on NOD32 4.0.424

    Hello,

There's a 51-page (at current time) message thread at that URL, so I am hoping the issue in question is with DefenseWall Firewall v3.00 beta which is listed on the first page.

I just downloaded a copy of the file on a computer running ESET Smart Security v4.2 with threat signature database 4849 and did not receive any reports of malware.

Are you still experiencing an issue with a false positive?

    Regards,

    Aryeh Goretsky

Yes, the link on the first post is the (updated) version.

It is no longer flagged using definition 4849.

    Thanks for investigating. :)
