I was installing Spamhilator for Thunderbird 3. I had just install Thunderbird so it was still trusted as I checked. I trusted the installer for Spamhilator as well. I could not get a connection between the mail client and spamhilator unless I disabled the firewall on DW3.

I've seen this problem show up with other programs like Sabnzbd too.

Is DW doing this for my benefit even though it is unnecessary on trusted applications?

Just add Spamhilator into the untrusted list- it will make the task.

    Ilya,

I've noticed that DW even interferes with my activesync connect to my windows mobile smartphone. Is DW blocking all ports on trusted apps by default?
