I downloaded the DDS10 Trial (before I purchase) to try and recover the contents of a drive from another PC. First the install complains about not being able to read the drive. Why is the install trying to read the drive? After selecting Ignore All the install completes in about an hour. Trying to run DDS10 after the install it complains about the same error, but I clicked Cancel this time and it went off into La La Land never to return. Running the Recovery Expert results in the same problem.

    Any thoughts.

What OS are you running (XP, Vista, etc.)?

Do you know the chipset used by the drive that is giving the errors?
Is it an SATA or IDE drive?

If the drive giving the errors is disconnected from the system, does DD start normally or does it still show any errors?

I think the trial version of DD will let you make a boot CD. If you boot from the DD CD, does it have a problem seeing the drive? (You won't be able to make any changes.)
