DDR5 RAM will be much faster than DDR4, but it comes with one major compromise August 6, 2021 https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/corsair-ddr5-ram-requires-much-better-cooling/
If If If this same new breakthrough DDR5 RAM Memory can also be satisfactory replacement for older machines that would indeed be a milestone. Most current trends as expected sour on older machines and suggest throw them away for new hardware and that does make sense of course. But imagine how much more folks/user's who been tied down with limitations of memory on older machines could be made more encouraged to purchase newer PC's if only they could realize some performance pickup on those older types and not feel they are of little use anymore. Compatibility means everything even where concerns computers that seemingly have hardware limitations that have been stuck at a particular level with no other choice but to either ditch it or settle for mediocre performance.
