    Hi,

I did a complete HDD backup from XP Pro to a removeable hard drive, using Acronis True Image Home 11. I then formatted the computer HDD and Installed Vista Business.

How do I go about copying the data from the removeable hard drive to the original HDD which now has Vista on it? No instructions came with the Acronis software, other than how to install it. For some reason the Users Guide on the CD won't open.

    Thanks

I'm assuming that you have already installed True Image Home 11 on Vista. If not, do so now. Be sure to install the latest version (check on your account on Acronis web site to see if there are any builds newer than the one you have now on the CD).

Browse to your image file on your external hard disk. Right-click on the file and choose "Mount". Follow the steps in the wizard, choosing the partition(s) from the image file that you need access to. When done, your image will be mounted as a virtual disk drive. From there, browse around and copy/paste any of your files to your new Vista installation.

On the Vista OS, you'll still have to install the applications that made those data files.
