Data recovery from destroyed floppy disk vs destroyed HD platter

    They managed to recover data that in a 5.25" floppy disk that had been cut in several pieces.

    Does it mean that it is possible to recover data in a hard drive platter with the same condition?

    I wouldn't try to wipe a harddisk (for the purpose of destroying data) by cutting it in a few pieces.

    There are much better ways to do that.
