you need to provide more info. What do you mean by cookie index? are you talking about the IE cookie folder? DAT is usually a extension like *.DAT, I have never seen a folder named DAT in windows. provide more info
C'mon Raza, not hard to imagine where Doc's headed. XP cookies - "%systemdrive%:\documents and settings\%username%\local settings\temporary internet files" Vista cookies - http://www.winvistaclub.com/f24.html XP index.dat (stick to the info, not the program) - http://www.acesoft.net/delete_index.dat_files.htm Index.dat Vista - http://www.vistaarticles.com/articles/449/1/Where-is-Index.dat-File-in-Windows-Vista?
I did not understand what he was asking. If all he wants to know is where the IE cookies are stored in windows then all he has to do is to go inside "internet options" under "general" tab look at the browsing history and click "settings". The new window that opens will show the location for the temp internet files/cookies etc. One can even click "view files" to open that folder up. "internet options" can be accessed either through control panel or from inside internet explorer. I guess, since the above was so trivial a procedure that I thought he was asking for something else. My mistake. p.s. That folder is never only 32 KB in size.
Hey, oh-kay w/me. And yah, hard to interpret how trivial a given individuals request may be on a global forum like W's.
