Anyone knows about this software? Is it good?
More info here.
Yes, I use Cryptainer PE and find it excellent. Very secure and mostly transparent in use, plus it provides Cryptainer Mobile so I can have secure storage on a USB flash drive too, which is a great idea. The freeware Cryptainer version is good as well and is great if you only need 25Mb of secure storage in each secure volume. Both highly recommended.
But it's not open source, so couldn't it contain a backdoor and you would never know about it.
sure could. you shouldn't trust winrar either
what's the prob with WinRAR? : just thinking of purchasing and have dled trial
It's been my experience that no password is required for 7-zip to extract files from password protected multi-part rar archives, whereas winrar itself will not. Regardless whether rarlabs changes their algorithm that still leaves many faulty archives sitting on servers and many users with the false impression that the contents they've uploaded are secure.
