    Well, the article literally says:

"BlackBerry said it expects to close the deal before the end of February, 2019, at which point Cylance will operate as an independent unit within BlackBerry."

I wonder why Cylance still isn't available in Europe.

Looks like all that AI hype paid off handsomely to Cylance investors:

My question is how Blackberry could afford this hind of payout in that it wasn't that long ago they were struggling financially. This rekindles memories of the .dot com crash fiasco.

Is anyone using Cylance now that they have been subsumed by Blackberry? If so, please tell us how Cylance is doing. Is there any evidence that it is being vigorously supported and improved, or is silence reigning supreme?

well.... eh, I have paid cylance 2.0 something, I haven't noticed anything better or worse, so far. but then I don't play with it much. It's light, I forget that it's there. I rarely find a need to go looking into my cylance webpage setting, maybe I should? :doubt:

it's not really a product where you sit around and wait for updates - it has received a handful of module updates since the acquisition, and it's still working fine. in-laws pcs are still clean.

A lifetime subscription to Cylance Smart Antivirus normally costs* $1,568, but you can pick it up for just $79.99 for a limited time - that represents a saving of $1,488.01 (50% off).

I hope their apps are better than their math.

And the weird thing is that Cylance always scores bad in anti-malware testing, it's becoming the new Malwarebytes which is actually improving. But BlackBerry paid billions for Cylance, so surely they can't be this bad? :doubt:

Don't know if this is true. But according to this comment it might explain why it has been underperforming.

"I know from a former Cylance employee that many of the guys who initially developed the product left the company when Blackberry has taken over Cylance."

To clarify, I was referring to testing done by AV-Test, I have never seen Cylance getting a good protection rate score.

It does poorly in 0-day testing. Its false positive rate also is high. As the saying goes, "You get what you pay for."

Such price-drop ist a strong indicator, that they are fading away....
