CWS.Smartsearch.2 Pain in the neck. Help!

    Please help me - I have a big problem with my CWshredder program. Its been affected with this blasted CWS.Smartsearch.2 variant that prevents Shredder from updating etc. I have Windows 2000 and here is my Hijackthis log

    Hmmmm

    Cheers for the advice but it told me that the virus wasn't present. CWShredder is still struggling. Any more suggestions?

    Have you checked the hostfile to make sure it hasn't been altered?
