    Hi Mike,

    Any idea when this started?
Some people have been reporting problems with Spybot S&D's Teatimer.

Try disabling it and see if that is the cause.
I see no threats in your log.

    Regards,

    Pieter

Re: Lookin for help with my log...

    Pieter,
Started acting funny, the type and curser sometimes flicker and the mouse becomes unresponsive. I will try the teatimer setting. The only thing I wondered about was the www.dcsresearch.com file as a host. That is new, I don't know how that got there? Maybe its of no concern.

Pieter I have also had a couple situatons in the past couple days where the system had a fault and launched into safe mode for me to shut down. It seems to recover ok, but that is behavior I have not observed before?

Thanks again from your service, I have learned alot this weekend about the whole spyware situation.

    Mike

This entry was made by installing one of the DiamondCS programs, probably TDS-3:
    O1 - Hosts: 64.91.255.87 www.dcsresearch.com

It makes sure you end up on their current website when you choose from the program. Otherwise you would end up on their old one.

Can you check your Event log for error reports that might help in finding the culprit?

    Regards,

    Pieter

Re: Lookin for help with my log...

    Hey Pieter,
Nothing in my log to report, as strange. As you can see from the software I have installed including now TDS3. I am fairly well armed.... I think. Is there anything else softwarewise you think I am missing that might give a clue? Your help has been great, and reassuring that I at least have tried to use the right protections.

Re: Lookin for help with my log...

    You can disable these two:
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime

There is no need for those to start at boot.

Also have a look here: http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm

    Hello Pieter,
Still having the problems of the other day when you analyzed my log,( XP fails, curser flickers...home page loads slowly...delayed) thanks again for your help. I was using my copy of TDS 3when I came upon the NetStat tool. I captured a log and sent it into the DCS support team, they believe CWS is active on my machine. I in the mean time was instucted to download the Port Explorer tool. Additionally I decided to give pest patrol a try it seemed to be well liked here. It found & removed the fllowing spyware: KaZaa and Go Hip. I can send the event log which I sent to DCS, if you would like but didn't want to clog the post with info that didn't prove useful. Advise and I will send, I n snapshot coolwebsearch seems to be partial to listening on TCP ports 1025 and 1027,also UDP port 1900. I believe it was resident and using my MS Messenger, which I used the XP antispy to kill yesterday. Now it seems to listen in the Symantec NIC 2004 shared and common services programs and even was using MS Outlook with UDP port 1900 earlier today. when I loo at the lower half of the Prot Explorer main screen you can see that there has been an exchange of packets with remote computers. Using: spybot s&d
ad aware6, cw shreader, mrublaster, ccleaner, pest patrol, tds3, spywear guard and blaster.

So here is my Highlack log from today:
