    @ RADEON0101:

    Hi,

    Thank you for the feedback!

    Here answers to your questions/suggestions:

    1. Yes, it is possible, thank you for that suggestion.
It is important specially for novice users.

    2. Yes, this actually mean that Real-time (On-access) objects classification is enabled.
If user disable real-time classification (protection) then progressbar will stop (continous moving).

    3. Yes, i will improve it to make notifications more easier to understand.

    4. Thank you for this bug report! Will be fixed.

Finally, can you tell please - what Operating System you are using?

    @ KelvinW4:

Thank you for the feedback about problems.

    Best regards,
    Kardo

Re: Kristal Security 2012 [0.0.1.x Beta]

    For answer #1:
It would also be nice to have your application call to the web for an automatic installation of .NET Framework. Example: User double clicks to install Crystal Security, Crystal Security searches system for .NET Framework, User doesn't have .NET Framework, Crystal Security then calls to the web for an automatic download and install, Once Installed...Crystal Security can now proceed with installation. I just think this would add a little more convenience for the user...Just a suggestion

For answer #2: Can I suggest maybe a Solid Green Bar that has text saying something like "Protection Enabled", "Protected" or "Objects classification is enabled". In my opinion, a continuous progress bar means it's thinking, but isn't doing anything. It may trick some novice users that something isn't working correctly.

For answer #4: I was on a Windows XP Home Edition (SP3) PC, which is specifically used for testing purposes.

    Hi,

    Thank you for suggestions :thumb:

    1. Absolutely right - i will plan to improve this and try to make it all automatic.

    2. Yeah, newer version include this suggestion with word ("Protected / Unprotected") next to progressbar

    4. Thank you for the info.

Hey, I hope you don't mind me doing this.

I took one of your images, and added (Edited) a protected indicator over that progress bar.

In my opinion, You don't have to follow through it of course (Since it is your product), but I just think a solid bar would be nice.

Like I said, just my opinion

    Here is the image:

I just wanted to post that on here, to give you a more visual aspect of what I meant.

By the way, I appreciate all of your hard work...I think you're doing great

    Hi,

Yeah, your suggested indicator (solid bar) is much better than
    progress bar.

I will plan to add also different colours like:

-> Green colour for Protected status (with white text on bar)

-> Red colour for Unprotected status (with white text on bar)

    Kardo

Re: Kristal Security 2012 [0.0.1.x Beta]

Love the new GUI, looks really clean and professional looking
    Love the update feature
    Love the new configuration settings

    But...

Here are the problems I encountered:

Test done on Windows XP Home (SP3) 32-bit, test bed machine

    1. Deny execution doesn't work on any application, I am still able to execute everything I throw at it. This should technically be denying on the fly (As the user clicks in real-time).

    2. Sometimes when denying an application's execution, I get constant JIT Debugging errors.

    3. By default, a program or component in the group category is automatically listed as "Whitelist", even after I changed it to deny it's execution or even to be blacklisted. The change a user makes doesn't seem to change the group or status of the application in real-time, or even after restart. Everything remains as a whitelisted program.

Basically, nothing is getting blocked on my end (Execution for everything still works), everything remains as a "Whitelist" program....Can anyone else replicate the same behavior?

A user should be able to deny execution not only for malicious files (If un-detected), but for safe applications as well (If a user desires). In my opinion, this gives the user control of every single execution on the system.

Re: Kristal Security 2012 [0.0.1.x Beta]

The error message below pops up upon opening the program. After closing the error message, the program crashes and closes out entirely. Same thing happens every time I open the program.

Here is the error message I receive:

Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit,
    the application will close immediately.

An exception occurred during a WebClient request

See the end of this message for details on invoking

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
    enabled.

    For example:

    <configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
    </configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

According to this JIT log, I think it is pointing Updater.exe as the problem. I dunno, you know more about this stuff than I do...What do you think?

Another reading in the error message: It seems to be pointing out that I have two of the same processes running, which I confirmed that I am not. Everything is being ran as a single instance. I even restarted, and it says the same thing.
