    Hi,

    Thank you for the interest. :)

    Yes, it is now possible to use Crystal Security without internet connection thanks to internal database.
    Please note that automatic updates for internal database will be added in the future.
    Currently internal database is updated with each new release.

    Regards,
    Kardo

    Hi Kardo,
    Thankyou for the new Beta.
    As usual I'm using the portable version, and the only difference in my set up this time is I've cancelled the Admin startup. So far no problems, and no .Net runtime errors yet and it's looking good.
    Thanks
    Gordon

    Hi Gordon,

    Thank you for the feedback! I am glad that everything seems fine so far.
    Please also try out if it works properly with Admin rights.. at least it should work fine because I made several important changes in processes detection module. :)

    Regards,
    Kardo

    Hi,

    Trying 0.94 beta for some time now, everything seems dandy so far ! Btw here I recommend you to try Process Hacker's terminator to test your apps self defense capabilities.

    Hey,

    We used to be able to see the virustotal report, I can't access that report anymore. Was this property removed or maybe I can't find it?

    Btw a question is CS using weighted statistics or all engines are counted as the same ?

    Hi, Thanks for the good questions! ;)

    1. Currently you can't find detailed reports or links of the report.
    2. All engines are counted as the same + internal database result (Malc0de and ThreatCenter).

    @Ashanta
    Thanks for the interest. :)
    If silent mode is enabled then all notifications (results) are hidden.

    @ghodgson
    Thanks Gordon for the feedback! Great to hear that. :thumb:

    Wouldn't a weighted score be better, some engines are quite prone to false positives while some detections like 1/48 are quite relevant when a vendor like Kaspersky is detecting it ? My suggestion would be something like this ( numbers are made up):

    File x is scanned w 4 engines. Engine A which is quite reliable detects it (weight 3), Engine B which is a newcomer doesn't detect it (weight 1), Engine C detects which is a moderately strong one (weight 2), Engine D which is not adequate doesn't detect it (weight 0.5). So detection per engines would be 2/4=0.5 while weighted average would be (3+2)/(3+2+1+0.5)=0.77

    Hi Kardo,

    Please check the following scan comparison between Hitman Pro and Crystal Security. I ran an advanced scan with Crystal Security on the same infected computer and it didn't find any malwares or treats while Hitman Pro found malwares. I'm running Malwarebytes and it scanning right now, and it already found 36 treats and the scan is not finnished. I think your scanning detection is not efficient. You should improve drastically if you want be one reliable antivirus. Thank you for your comprehension. I really like your program, the graphics and the low ressources but need some great improves on the detection of malwares.

    I've just make a screenshot of the Malwarebytes results, please check it also.
