    Hi,

    Thank you for your suggestions!

Currently only unknown files (no reports/new hash) will be uploaded into VirusTotal service.

    First step is already hascheck.

    Third suggestion is good :thumb:

    Thanks for information.

    Regards,
    Kardo

    Suggestion:
When the program gives an alert, instead of the orange alert window use
    Green (Safe)
    Yellowish/orange (Suspicious)
    Red (Malicious)

And bold the decision, it is especially hard to track when you do a checkup.

Also keep up the good work

  5. Think I found the flow of events for Crystal to stop being able to access the settings. Pres settings (wheel) remove rar and zip, add a folder to watch.

First time to have a look at crystal security. Is this an alternative to products like Malwarebytes (MBAM) or does it serve another function?

Still needs a lot of work but it basically upload suspicious exe to virus total. WOrks on demand and real time.
It's like a real time Hitman Pro.

    Hi,

@ guest: I am working on it ;)

  23. Cardo, thanks for implementing the protection modes and criteria and the auto-decide rules, looks good :thumb:

I would change the positioning of Crystal Security from pro-active detection to malware detection companion and emphasise the five buying points below (reasons to use/install Crystal Security):

    1. Ultimate AV-companion solution (checks for malware against 40+ Anti Virus engines)

    2. Three protection modes
    a) Checks running programs for malware (Check on Malware mode)
    b) Checks processes originating from intrusion loadpoints for malware (Intrusion detection mode)
    c) both (Paranoid mode)

    3. User controlled white list/black list criteria and auto decide options

    4. Light on PC resources

    5. Post infection removal assistance

Here is where it get's interesting when Crystal Security finds an unsafe executable, offer the user to download the following programs (you could write a script for installing all user selected post-infections programs)
    a) Anti-rootkit: Kapersky TDSSKiller, Malware Bytes Anti-Rootkit Free
    b) Loadpoint scan: HitmanPro Free, Panda Cloud scanner Free, Norton Power Eraser Free
    c) Full virus removal (all signatures): EAM Emergency Kit Free, Avira AntiVir Removal tool Free, ESET Rogue Applications Remover Free, Dr Web CureIT Free
    d) Fake Anti-Virus removal: Trend Data Fake AV Remover Free, G-Data Fake AV Cleaner Free
    e) Toolbar removers: Smart Toolbar Remover Free, AdwCleaner Free
    f) Full trace removal (recent infections): Malware Malware Bytes Anti-Malware Free

Contact those companies and ask for retailer/value added reseller options, split retail discount between the customer and yourself. Offer a buy option in your program. When a user/customer wants to buy the full version, redirect this sales through direct channel request to the AV-company from your website. Explain you get a kick back fee when they buy from your website. Tell your users you choose for funding by reselling best of breed AV-solutions, in stead of charging end-users.

As you know from earlier PM's it is my daily job to assist (mostly IT & Telecom) companies with innovation (product development), go-to-market scenario's and sales improvement on a no-cure/no-pay basis. So when you need help closing these contracts, let me know.

    Regards Kees

hmm 5 would make me consider it a crapware so plz dont.
BTW. Any upgrade to the on access/live scanner?

  25. Are we talking about this?
Considering these downloads are selected/installed per explicit user choice. Why is offering people assitance with installation of malware cleaning tools after infection associated with crapware?
