Re: Kristal Security 2012 [0.0.1.x Beta]

    Hi,

    Update released - Version: 2.4.0.14

    Fixed:

    * User can add same objects multiple time into Whitelist or Blacklist

    Added:

    * Settings automatic backup and restore feature

    # This will backup all settings before the update and
restore settings from backup when update finished.
(This will help to remember all settings and whitelist and blacklisted objects)

    * Checkup skip whitelisted files

    # This feature skip all whitelisted files during system checkup.
For example if system checkup is finished and there are still unknown files
then you can whitelist unknown files (if you know that these are safe files) then
in next checkup these files will be ignored.

    Improved:

    * Updated German language

    Download link: -http://content.wuala.com/contents/crystalsecurity/Public/Crystal%20Security%202.4.0.14/Crystal%20Security.exe?dl=1

    Any feedback welcome!

    Regards,
    Kardo

Re: Kristal Security 2012 [0.0.1.x Beta]

    Hi,

    Yes i can ;)

    1. 'Main' will show Activity Monitor (Default listview when you start program)

    2. Start on Startup is actually now 'Start with Windows' and if this is enabled then Crystal Security start automatically when you start your computer.

    3. Should be: Minimize on Startup - This will minimize Crystal Security to system tray and don´t show main window when program start (for example on start up)

Hope you got answers to your questions. If you need anything else - just let me know anytime.

    Regards,
    Kardo

    Hi,

    Yes.

    Info about coming version:

Soon i will release new BETA version of Crystal Security. New coming version will include License center where Crystal Security user should create account to register product - Account creation is free and show overall information about license type etc. After registration via program license center, user can login with account details and set login to automatic to make this process comfortable. From license center there users can activate in future trial version of Crystal Security | Pro Edition. Trial version will be 30 days. After trial expiration program convert back to Home Edition if there is no licensed inserted.

License center feature also helps me to keep track how many people use Crystal Security :)

PS. All translators and active beta testers get Pro Edition for free.

    Regards,
    Kardo

    Hi Kardo,

I didn't notice any change going from v2.4.0.13 beta to v2.4.0.14 beta, yesterday.

However, going back into this snapshot this morning, I noticed immediately after bootup your program requested an outward connection, which I allowed. This has automatically upgraded Cyrstal Security to the latest version, i.e. v2.4.0.15 beta.

So, the recent improvements made, seem to be working fine. :)

    Hi,

Thank you for the feedback! :)

Thanks to rebuilt settings system in v2.4.0.15 version, your applied rules to objects and settings stay same in coming version.
This mean in newer version you don´t have to apply rules again for same files multiple times.

Also whitelisted files will be excluded in System Checkup and it will show in v2.4.0.15 version in Checkup only: unknown, suspicious and unsafe files.

    Regards,
    Kardo

Re: Kristal Security 2012 [0.0.1.x Beta]

    Hi,

    You are welcome!

    1. Reputation mean final result for analyzed object.
Some possible results: Safe or Unsafe. If analyzed object is detected by
multiple engines then Reputation is Unsafe.

Briefly: Reputation show overall object analysis result.

Hope that it is more clear now...for you and for others too :)

If anything else you need, just let me know.

PS. Next Beta version will be available within 20 hours.

    Regards,
    Kardo

    Hi,

    Two update released in series:

    @ yesterday night:

    2.4.0.16 BETA

    Added:

    * License center

    @ Today:

    2.4.0.17 BETA

    Fixed:

    * Design bugs - related with License center
    * Combobox (select action)

    Improved:

    * Updated German and Estonian language

    # new translation applied to notification window.

    Download link: -http://content.wuala.com/contents/crystalsecurity/Public/Crystal%20Security%202.4.0.17/Crystal%20Security.exe?dl=1

Thanks to License center there is now some new words to translate - i hope
that user Mops21 still can help me :)

    Any feedback welcome!

About License center: I decided to make automated Home Edition registration.
This mean when you start Crystal Security, then program automatically register Home Edition
license (product). This procedure is unique for every computer. You don´t have to insert
    any name, email etc....

You can find also new text from License center: Activate trial and Get Pro license. These
'links' don´t work at the moment because Pro version features are not available yet.

I hope to reach to Final stage with few next updates. so after few more
betas i will release final version.

    Regards,
    Kardo

    Hi,

    Yes of course ;)

    1. 'Deny execution' apply execution rule for certain file. If you choose from Select action list 'Deny execution' then certain this certain object (for example 1234.exe) execution will be blocked.

Briefly: object with deny execution rule can´t execute on your computer. If you´d like to disable deny execution rule for file then just add the file into the Crystal Security Whitelist.

    2. Allow once is now Allow object - If you choose this rule from Crystal Security Alert window, then it will allow detected object and it is not blocked then. Also if you check on alert window 'Remember this action' then it will be added automatically to Whitelist. All Whitelisted files will be skipped next time.

My English is not very good but i hope you got answer from this reply.

If you need anything else...feel free to tell me...i am here to help you ;)

PS. Greetings from Estonia to Germany :)

    Regards,
    Kardo

    Hi Kardo,

I noticed that your program did not update this time, like I mentioned in my post #311

Also, with 2.4.0.17, I had a lot of alerts, which I did not have with 2.4.0.15. I guess, it is down to fine tuning of your program.

BTW, see my posts in the AppGuard thread here and here and this reply by shadek

    P.S. I like your new uersname. ;)

    Hello,

    Thank you for the feedback!

I reproduced your reported updating issue. 2.4.0.14 updated successfully
but newer versions not. I will fix it!

Alert issue is known problem for now and thanks for confirmation ;) - this bug will be fixed too.

About your mentioned posts: I read your comments in AppGuard thread and found that AppGuard is blocking Crystal Security - shadek answer to your reported issue is correct...AppGuard is just doing its job.

shadek reply about program location is correct too, but if under settings is checked Start With Windows then executable location is Windows Startup folder.

PS. Please note that if new update is available then update it manually for this time because of updater issue from version v2.4.0.15 to v2.4.0.17.

    Regards,
    Kardo
