BitTorrent clients are plentiful, but many leave a lot to be desired. While numerous clients have fallen by the wayside, there are some names that have stuck around. One such client is Transmission, and after a two year wait, we're finally being treated to a new version.

Transmission 3.00 is a significant release, and there are numerous new options and features in the latest version of the open source, cross-platform client. Improvements have been made to the client across all platform -- Windows, macOS, Linux and the web -- including the option of allowing the RPC server to listen on an IPv6 address.
This release addresses various performance and security issues, creating a more stable and reliable client.

There are also significant changes to the Qt client, including fixing problems with dragging and dropping torrent files onto the program window and improvements to the look of the UI on high-resolution displays.

This was my favorite Torrent client on MacOS, very simple and nice UI and is super fast!

Love its interface, nothing to tweak! Even beats qBittorrent's UI IMO for simplicity

Tip 1: Go into settings and cap your upload speed to 55KB/S. That is the best ration in order to not get throttled download speeds yet not choke your upload if it was unlimited which could also affect your download speeds if your upload was used at max capacity.

Tip 2: In settings, tick the box to allow it monitoring download of torrents in the Downloads folder, that way they are automatically added into the client once a torrent is downloaded.

Tip 3: This is personal but I also like to have it being sent to the system tray and also start minimized in the system tray so do that in options as well if you like.

Developers of the open source cross-platform BitTorrent client Transmission have released Transmission 3.00 this week. The new major version of the program introduces several new features and improvements, as well as fixes for various issues.

Transmission 3.00 is a major new release that introduces new functionality. Among the noticeable changes is support for TCP_FASTOPEN which may speed up things somewhat, RPC server IPv6 support, use of a temporary session ID to better determine whether a session is local or remote, and improved HiDPI support of the Qt client.
Windows users benefit from improved completion scripts execution and error handling, and added support for .bat and .cmd scripts.

Transmission 3.00 fixes several issues in clients and tools. The progress sorting option has been fixed on Windows, and a torrent dropping bug has been fixed as well.
All clients benefit from updated library files, several memory leak fixes, and other improvements.
