A few weeks ago, I created an image of my entire hard drive (60GB). I've restored that image to that drive several times with no issues.

Then last week, I bought another, faster, drive that's 160GB. I've split this into two partitions, one for data and another 60GB partition. I'd like to use the new 60GB partition on that drive to run my OS and programs.

Can I restore the image taken from my old drive to this new partition on the new drive?

    Thanks

You should be able to but the Clone Disk tool would be a better choice of weapon.

Install the 160 Gb drive temporarily, Clone the old drive to it, swap drives, all done.

    Hello polkmaniac,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We suggest you to use the "Clone Disk" wizard. Please note that this wizard allows transferring the operating system, applications and data of an entire hard drive.

    Thank you.
