Crashplan Online Backup Lost My Backup

    Crashplan Online Backup LOST MY ENTIRE BACKUP ARCHIVE - Jeffery Donenfeld Blog

    Dual layer DVD's, additional HDD's kept at home. Don't rely on a single solution for your lifes work and don't rely on Online Backup systems for valuable irreplaceable information.

    Man that's a lesson in don't have a single point of failure in your backup scheme.

    Wow...that's pretty sad! I recently switched to Crashplan from IDRIVE because IDRIVE slowed my laptop a bit. I also do daily backups to an external drive but that is besides the point. Cloud backup services need to take their responsibilities seriously and, in this case, Crashplan did not.
