Counterspy 2.0 is a closed beta only for a select group of testers by invite.

Reference this thread---> New Upcoming Version 2

That CounterSpy version 2.0.35.0 should be an alpha instead of a beta. It has been pulled off from the beta forum since early April 2006. In this new version, there are changes to the scan engine for detection and removal, although the UI is more or less the same as 1.5.

In my opinion Sunbelt needs to make some changes in the area of resources usage for it to be acceptable to many of us. It is much too heavy at this point in time, and I removed it for that reason.

If that is done it will be a very good AS application. I have never doubted its detection rates, but it uses too much memory. Now one might ask how much it slowed my machine, and I would say that I never noticed that. However, if I get enough applications that use 90,000K to over 100,000K of memory it would slow me down. For that reason I ditched it.

Maybe I have more RAM and CounterSpy didn't slow my PC much...
The 2.0 alpha also played well on my PC and I didn't notice any particular slow down, but I have forgotten how much ram it used. :D

    Hi All:

In the next few weeks Sunbelt should be making available a public beta for those interested.
