corrupt image from 3 partitions to a 4th

    That's excellent news :)

    There is a potential problem regarding data corruption when tranfering very large file over USB (see this <rather lengthy thread> for details). Add the inherent unreliability of burning to optical media and you could be in for a bumpy ride!! It would be more reliable and damn sight quicker if you imaged to an external hard drive, preferably one that used a NEC chipset (again, check out this other thread titled <External USB/Firewire drives that work> for details).

    Best to image the whole disk as one (tick the box next to the disk that you're imaging) so that TI copies the Master Boot Record (MBR). That way, if you ever need to restore to new/replacement hard drive, your system will boot correctly.

    Hello Mike,

    Glad to hear you have solved the problem.

    If you create the image of a single system partition we cannot guarantee that after restoration to another disk this disk will be bootable. The reason is that MBR is included into the image only in case you create the image of the whole disk.

    I would also recommend that you read Acronis special article concerning burning images to DVDs.
