    Hi,

I have released Corbitek Antimalware, it's free for commercial and noncommercial use.
It has automatic, incremental update; real-time scanning; heuristic detection; quarantine; disinfection module; low resource consumption; simple design.

If you're interested, you can download it from here:
http://www.corbitek.ro/node/1 ~Replaced direct download link with site's Download page ~

    There's also a version without real-time scanning:

    I appreciate any feedback

    Thank you,
    Bogdan

I'm afraid none of what you mentioned is available in the current version.

However we plan to add them in the next releases, starting with behavioral blocker, hips, and if we have enough resources, we will also add "In The Cloud" capabilities.

    Your welcome,
    Bogdan

No. "Little Intelligent Antivirus" has been abandoned.
Corbitek Antimalware is written from scratch and has nothing to do with L.I.A, it uses a radically different architecture:modular approach(separate modules for detection, disinfection, quarantine and update), IPC(inter-process communication).

In other words, it's way better than L.I.A :D

the link for the .exe without realtime seems to be broken. btw if u install for just on-demand scanning, does it install a service thats always running? (like A-Squared) or is it like Malwarebytes wer thers no service always running and u can just scan whenever.

Yes, it uses a signature database, and a heuristic module.

Sorry about that. Here's the correct link:

If you only install on-demand scanning, it will install a service, that will automatically run on Windows startup. Without the service, no scanning can be performed.

~ 13-14 MB RAM, and 30% CPU when performing on demand scanning.
for real-time scanning: same RAM usage, and ~1-2% cpu

It is recommended to uninstall your current antivirus, but if you don't want to do so, you can download the version without realtime scanning:

Malware means all nasties(virii, trojans, worms, spyware, rootkits), and Corbitek is an Antimalware :D

Hello. I tried to reach your forum but the forum link appears to go somewhere else. The question I had was- is your antimalware program based on an in-house scanning engine or does it incorporate one from another vendor? Also, same question for the signatures. And finally, are there any test results available in regard to how your program does against malware- realtime detection, on demand detection, removal, etc?

    thanks

I have a question. I haven't read anything about this being a finished program or a beta. Is this a beta program?

    So it's not a beta.
Some developers will "release" a program for testing without initially disclosing that it's a beta.;)

    Interesting.

I checked the WHOIS information of corbitek.ro . While I don't see anything that's clearly a privacy protection/anonymity service, I don't see any information that could be tracked to a person.

http://whois.rotld.ro (as mentioned in the WHOIS information) does not work (for me ) !

    .ro stands for Romania.

So you're providing people with a free antimalware product for both home and business users ? You need staff to develop and update a product like this.

That seems too good to be true.

Seriously, what's the business model ?

I won't put it on my machine. :p

Can we be sure it's not rogue or exhibits rogue-like features ?

There are plenty of proven and free AVs.

    Coupla tests - XP VM.

First test against a newish rogue with heuristics set at paranoid.

Second test with a mixed bag of malwares.
