    Iam trying to convert a backup image to a virtual disk (Vmware ESX Server). When I convert the image over, it is hughe. The backup image is only 3gb and the virtual disk (vdmk file) is 71gb. Why is the converted file so large? How can i convert it over to a smaller file? It took over 1 hour to convert it.

    I have the True Image Echo server, 8,206 build.

    Thanks..

    it looks like I was not using the correct option. I was using the ESX server option, wherre I should have used the vmware option.

    But, here is a problem when I tired to covert an image over from a backup to a Virtual image (vdmk). received this error:

    E00070008: Partition Error.

    Some of the selected partitions have the following error: Resize impossible

    Hello pdigiacinto,

    Thank you for using Acronis Corporate Products

    We are unable to resolve the issue without additional information. Do you have Acronis Universal Restore license? I can propose you to restore the archive using Acronis Universal Restore instead of converting the backup archive to a .vdmk disk:

    1. Create a blank virtual disk;
    2. Restore the .tib backup to the created blank virtual disk using Acronis Universal Restore.

    Also, please see this article for more information.

    Thank you.
