I did an Window 10 OS re load onto new SSD and forgot to change bios to UFEI(duh) It got left on "Legacy and UFEI" setting(2 bios possibilities UFEI only and that) I checked msinfo32 and it shows Legacy now Is it possible to safely change over to gpt without data loss then reboot computer and select UFEI in bios before windows 10 starts or no That way keeping the OS without reinstalling or no? I see Aomei partition pro indicates that it can be done by a few click without data loss Any suggestions Thanks in advance
I haven't tried the AOMEI conversion. The TeraByte Unlimited MBR to GPT conversion works every time. No data loss.
Here is what I wound up doing and it worked: I used MBR2GPT on Win 10 settings>security>recovery>advanced startup>click on restart now>then click troubleshoot now>then click on advanced options>then click command prompt option select admin account , enter password then typed mbr2gpt /validate enter validated was good to go! then typed mbr2 /convert enter successful closed out of that>turn off computer then restart > hit delete >enter bios set to UFEI from Legacy/UFEI save and reboot on desktop cross fingers! all good!!! I had everything backed up
