Could you tell me the contents of the bootable installation CD of the retail box version of TI9? Besides the root directory, does the installation CD have any directory? Show me the list of files on the CD. (I am NOT talking about files hidden inside a big archive file. I am NOT talking about CD's created by Rescue Media Builder.)

Unless I am mistaken, you have to make a bootable cd just like everyone else.

No, the retail installation CD is also a bootable rescue CD. However, if the retail version is not at the latest build standard (currently 2323) then you need to register the product, download the latest version after logging into your account, uninstall the previous build, install the new one and then create a new bootable rescue CD.

Does this mean that one has to make a new rescue cd for every new build of TI9? This could add up to a lot of cd's.

That is indeed the recommendation. Now that TI9 seems not to be spawning as many complaints it may mean that the number of new recovery CDs will come to a halt - well, after another one or two maybe.

If there is a problem that affects the operation of TI then there is a good chance that problem is also in the bootable CD version too.

I use two CD rewritable disks; one for the latest build and the other the previous build. Just erase the oldest copy before creating the new one on the now blank disk.

    Dear Alexey and Tatyana,

I have not got any reply from Acronis tech support.

I am still waiting for Acronis tech support to answer the following original questions.

    > Could you tell me the contents of the bootable installation
    > CD of the retail box version of TI9? Besides the root
    > directory, does the installation CD have any directory? Show
    > me the list of files on the CD.

Does the installation CD contain all of the following files and no other files?

    setup.exe
    bootmenu.exe
    bootwiz.sys
    f11.cfg
    kernel.dat
    mouse.com
    ramdisk.dat
    splash.run

    Hello stamp,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We do apologize for the delayed response.

The installation CD of Acronis True Image 9.0 has only one directory which contains only those files you have mentioned above.

Please let me know your Acronis request # which was sent to you in autoreply to your letter to Acronis Support Team. I will find out the reason for the delay.

    Thank you.
