    Hey guys

I was wondering if someone would be able to help me out here.

I am a little confused about what Norton AntiVirus has told me. I got a pop-up from it saying that my computer had been infected with download.trojan. It was found in my Temporary Internet Files folder.

    NAV sent me to http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/download.trojan.html
and i followed all of the steps that it said.

I scanned the computer and it found nothing, and there is nothing in quarantine. I am a bit too pessimistic to think that it's gone away just like that o_O Could it have done?

    Cheers

    Anna

just delete your temporary internet files if that is where it said it was and you should be clean and that is possibly what nortons cleaner did if you can not find it again ;)

Is there anything I should do in order to prevent getting another trojan?

first and foremost is safe surfing, keep your av updated and your windows patches updated and run some kind of antitrojan program. There are discussions about good ones here and watch how you open attachments in your mail program. There are a lot of good suggestions on keeping your computer secure in almost all of the sub forums. Also you might want to look here

You may also want to take a look here for further discussion on security and how to make your system that much stronger and here for more.

    Hope this helps...

    Cheers :D
