Got W11P installed on my Lenovo Thinkpad T540p release date November 2013. Now I want to tweak it to as much like W7 as I can.
That is entirely up to you. I recommend that you test Windows 11 inside a VM before upgrading. Or make an image of your current system using Macrium free, and then if you do not like Windows 11 you can restore the image to get your current setup back in a few minutes.
@Raza - I need to pull the trigger on 10 or 11, I'm not looking for recommendations. I've used 11 for quite some time, due to events, from this thread. I had to downgrade to 10, and make the machine ready for 11. Now the reminder 'Your machine is ready for 11' message. I've seen that movie, and know the storyline, plot, how much its cost to see the show, but do I really want to watch that same movie AGAIN?
@Rico I did not know that you had already used Win 11. If you are satisfied with Win 11 then go for it. I am currently happy with Win 10, and even though my PC is fully compatible with Win11, I am delaying the upgrade because of just one critical reason, "lack of a toolbar support on the taskbar'. I have a toolbar on my taskbar that I use as a quick launch bar for all my shortcuts. I have used it since Windows 98, and I depend on it. I know that I can enable that functionality with a third party app, but I was hoping that maybe one of these days Microsoft will come to their senses and restore that ability to the taskbar.
Raza - 11 oops > 11 does not meet requirements > dl Media Creator for 10 using fat32, all is well happy, playing with WD/MBAMlifetime, 3 install left BD stby > UEFI on 10 install using ntfs, one drive acting up, Edge not comfy > install BD > 11...wilders. NEXT
If you want to bypass W11 hardware requirements the link is in post# 15. I'm running W11P on a 2013 ThinkPad T540P & it runs excellent.
