Edit: the trace of Norton on my system was a detection of the security center repository. I deleted the C:\windows\system32\wbem\repository folder and the issue was resolved. (credit: Lucian Bara, Kaspersky Lab Forum).

Mods, please lock this thread as the issue has been quickly resolved. :)

    Thx

    Hi Climenole,

I already used that tool, thanks. Symantec/Norton is such a hassle to remove from a system. Even with their so-called 'Removal Tool".....it still left a bunch of crap (folders + registry entries) behind.

Download CCleaner and run the registry cleaner and the regular program.

It's just one of my expressions.
    1. Tattoo = once you have it on your skin, it's hard to remove.
    2. Norton = once you have Norton installed, it's hard to remove.
So I call it the "Norton Tattoo" (yellow color). :)

PS: I've seen quite a few websites, that describe in step mode how to uninstall Norton or websites with uninstalling softwares.

    Hi ErikAlbert :)

    Okay.
I was thinking about somethings like a checkup based on MAC addresses of PC components. (A kind of Norton "WGA"...)

    Thank you for answer.

    :)

This Removal Tool is a load of Bollocks, cause it doesnt remove the registry keys from the registry editor, nor does it remove the Symantec Shared Folder from the Common Files Folder in Programs :thumbd: You need to rip these offenders out Manually :shifty:

Hi, folks; Try these: after reboot.
for folder: start > search> type name of folder you want to delete.
for registry traces: use program such as Registar Registry Manager Pro to do manual search and delete them one by one. These methods have been helping me many times including Norton tatoo problems. Good luck.
