    Hi,

Does anyone have a comparative of a vanilla Vista (incl. Vista Firewall and MS Antispyware out of the box) and Just NOD32 AV versus Vista with ESS (and presumably Vista Firewall disabled and MS Antispyware disabled as they would no longer be needed). I am wondering if I will be a lot better protected than just sticking with the AV product and the "free" Vista tools.

I have a router hardware F/W as well by the way.

    Cheers,
    Paul

The ESS firewall is nice, but not too robust in terms of all the leak test stuff. Honestly, you could save some money by going with just NOD32 AV, and getting something like PCTools firewall or Webroot desktop firewall free (which is supposed to be a rebranded privacyware firewall with DSA).
