Discussion in 'other anti-virus software' started by Brocke, Dec 6, 2009.
It was previously a lot more. The Daisy machine makes it less and less, so I read.
Tomorrow mods will have CIS 4.
Then information and screen shots will be posted on the forums.
well the last thing i remember about Comodo's AV is they have some definition file issues with size, download time and connection, not sure if they still do.
here a screenshot of CSI 4 and feature list
EDIT: its said that more changes will happen for the next year for comodo GUI this is like a 'base'
For the MODS: don't would be better to move this thread in " other anti-malware software " ?
one thing i dont like about the GUI is the whole subscrition status thing. just looks like an AD and that they want me to BUY crap.
The Post is fine here its about Comodo Internet Security its fine in Anti-Virus Software. Tho that's just IMO.
I like the current Green/Blue/White color scheme more than the red.
they are saying that the AV will be able to clean all files and remove all rootkits , thats a really bold statment and i hope to see it .
They mean well, but sometimes they over-promise. I still like their products though.
well the new more CTM like theme is pretty dam terrible looking compared to their current one, looks a lot less polished as well and overall just looks ugly. bad move IMO, shuldve kept current one at the least.
I suppose that the inclusion of elements of CTM will make removal fairly straightforward so it seems a reasonable prospect.
Like the red
Looking foward very much to getting my hands on this.
Took a look at what was coming up for v4 https://forums.comodo.com/beta_corn...be_released-t42723.0.html;msg348029#msg348029 and saw that CIS claims to be the first and only AV/AM to use virtualization. Doesn't Avast! 5 sandbox count, since it is already out in beta and has lots of users?
dont u know Comodo are famous for their big talk. but thats about it...
I think Returnil was the first virtualization app with an AV engine.
The first suite with sandboxing was KIS, maybe Norman, depends on how you look at it.
CIS4 sandboxes only untrusted apps and has no integrated virtualization, only optional with CTM.
Currently a lot of fuss about little. Maybe more to come (in both senses of the phrase).
"This is literally the ultimate protection available today, period! (well not available today yet )
"Literally" is one thing, actuality is another matter altogether.
Then again, that is the COMODO we know. I.E. Creation by divine word.
(Sorry josh, couldn't resist. )
Well the magic pixie dust option looks exiting
wow i am just AMAZED at the ignorance of some of the posters over on their forums, as well as how much they talk for somebody who doesnt know much about this software world...
I'm not overly impressed by the new look tbh,it seems to me that some of the best looking GUIs are in the rogue AMs nowadays.
That's the really sad part. Rogues are putting more work into there "Fake" AV then some vendors are, It's getting stupid.
I see that Comodo has backed off from being the first to use virtualization, although the thread at https://forums.comodo.com/beta_corn...be_released-t42723.0.html;msg348029#msg348029 is now restricted to registered members. But the latest claim "Noone has utilised virtualisation to provide Prevention as the first line of defense and use Virtualisation and AV to almost eliminate alerts that prevention based systems suffer from" sure sounds a lot like what Vlk is espousing with Avast! 5. And some of the other programs mentioned here? Maybe if you narrow things down enough they are the first to do something But isn't it more important to claim to do it well than to claim to do it first?
So they claimed that they are the first company that uses virtualization for antivirus detection and prevention? Huh? Who said that?
i believe its their CEO but not sure yet
