My tune is just the same and just as loud as before. Every software has limitations, if you have ever been to the Comodo forums you would know that I'm no fanboy, I can complain as much as the next guy. The Comodo AV is great WHEN USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH CIS. I never stated that CAV was great as a standalone product. Comodo FW is great also but I don't want it tested without D+.

the AV will be better in version 4.1

Remove-Malware did a test of 10 links and the AV got most of them.

the AV right now is about 65% detection rate but should go up alot on the never version.

I'll pass on any AV, free or paid, with a detection rate of ~65%.
No offense intended, but the whole 'we'll be up there with Norton, etc. within a year' thing comes to mind.
Oh well, wait 'til next version (again).

It's a VERY good idea to pass on Comodo's AV. In fact, the CIS installer makes it easy to do that very thing -- i.e. you can run the firewall (& D+) independently of the AV.

And THAT's why it is a GOOD idea to test Comodo's AV as an independent entity. Namely: if (Comodo FW with Comodo D+ with Comodo AV) is good, then (Comodo FW with Comodo D+ with Avast AV) will be even better. (I use Avast as one example of the MANY AVs that are far superior to the present state of Comodo's AV).

So Iggy gave us some valuable info with his test -- info we already had, from other tests, but Iggy's test was useful for re-validation, nonetheless.

Left at installed defaults. I never adjusted anything.

Some people want a lighter setup than Avast+Comodo FW provides. If I stay clean with the lighter setup (CIS alone) why would I want to add Avast and stay clean while using more resources?

well just the CIS suite alone is almsot good enough, even when the sandbox gets greatly improved then nothing will get in.

the sandbox concept they are using if its unknown sandbox it i mean that gets pretty secure but thats the last step it has to go thou AV, firewall, D+ then sandbox.

so the next update should fix the issue with the sandbox.

version 4.1 will increase the AV usage and strongness.

It is good enough for users who know what they're doing, it's certainly not perfect. The average user may need the stronger AV. It's so hard to find a happy medium between what advanced user want, and what's usable for noobs. That's what Comodo is going through now.

i believe they can do both have a config for beginners and a config for advanced users.

They can if they don't over complicate it, which seems to be the norm for many companies these days.

yea, but for now i think its doing pretty well for beginners, alittle more tweaking it will come.

    Can someone clarify me:

    - If when installing CIS, only Firewall is selected the Sandbox works? To Sandbox to work isn't needed to install Comodo AV?

    Thanks in advance.

yes if you install the firewall you get D+ also which does include the sandbox.
