They release fast don't they! :)

Anyway this version should be more stable then the current released v3.8 in terms of Bug Fixes, If all goes well, The next version will be released.

    Hi wembleyy,

Can you do a bug report at the beta section, in the bug report thread please? But also include:

    - You're Operating System, And what Service back and whether it is x32/x64
    - Your other installed Utilities/Security Software
    - Specific step by step description on how to exactly reproduce this issue.

    Thank you!

    Cheers.
    Josh

Oh believe me... they're existent if you bump them up. The accuracy is another thing. :D I tested bumping them up to the max and started a manual scan. After a while it'd catched 72 files automatically - all FPs. :D

3xist, does CIS/CAV automatically send heuristically detected files and processes to you for analyzis? If it doesn't, it sure would be a great, default feature of the software.

Re: COMODO Internet Security 3.9.73015.489 BETA Released

Right now the heuristics seem very weak - and not in the way that they don't detect anything. Even in the default, low-setting it would detect the PhysX Fluid-test for nVidia through heuristics!

Right now I'm letting D+ run in its default Clean PC Mode, but if it bothers me in the future with FPs, I'll just disable that too and continue with TF primarily on that front.

My overall impression is that CAV will eventually get there and is light on the system. The settings for it are great. Its features and overall effectiveness needs to improve though...

EDIT: Checkboxes in the AV-excluded items section with a Select All-one is certainly needed... Took pretty many clicks to say the least to remove the FPs from heuristics on that list after accidentaly telling the software to ignore those items...

EDIT2: Often when I hover over items in a list where I don't see the whole text, it won't show that kind of "extend" which lets you quickly see that. EDIT3: Apparently, for example the list of threats found, and I would guess all lists, becomes an in-active window once done loading the list in question. When I click to make it active (which it should be all the time anyway really...), it'll properly show those "extend"-bars.

Stabilty matters more than being rapid.

I remember last time they did same, they released the final version and just after few days another bug fix final version and then after few days another bug fix final version.

It doesn,t hurt to wait few days rather than forcing users to download and install a new version one after another.

Hmmm... IMO signature count means nothing.

AV-statistics to the right in the main-window doesn't work. They all remain zero. If this is only scheduled scans-statistics, it isn't clear that it's.

That it improves is something I like though. :D ;)

Also agree on the counting, and that almost all companies count different.

I find it weird that CAV says in its statistics to the right something on "Next Schedule" (it says it'll do it at midnight tomorrow...), simply because I've removed any scheduled scannings completely. There was only one by default. ;)

Every time I read the bravado about the Comodo signature count I think of the McDonalds ads here in the US. :) "Over 8 billion sold" is supposed to make us all believe that their burgers are somehow better than some place that hasn't sold nearly that many. And while 4 million signatures is probably better than 2 million FOR CAVS, no real relationship to the counts for other AVs. Or to the heuristic sophistication and other features. Or to whose AV tastes better. But I guess you advertise what you can, and they are obviously making progress. Still waiting for peer review and evaluation, but maybe 4.0 will be "good enough"?

Thx for the heads up. :) Will users that already have the RC1 installed automatically get updated to RC2, or is it faster to download the new version straight away, and can I install on my current installation?

Re: COMODO Internet Security 3.9.73015.489 BETA Released

    Here are the release notes:

What is new in this 3.9.75615.498 RC2?
    ==========================
FIXED! Summary screen does not show firewall connections/Active Processes properly
FIXED! CIS fails to catch input blocking/windows messaging
FIXED! Chkdsk.exe does not work properly when CAV is installed
FIXED! CIS causes system performance slowdown after a prolonged time of data transfer(CIS causes glitches while wathing streaming media)

raven221 it should be OK to auto update, but if it fails for any reasons downloading and re installing is that other alternative, considering it's still RC and not released yet.

    Cheers,
    Josh

Comodo Internet Security RC2 has been updated...

    Hi Guys,

CIS 3.9 RC2 was updated to build 502 today (from version 498 build), (Version 3.9.76291.502) - To fix Firewall issues and a few others issues.

There is NO separate installer for build 502. There will be 2 stage in order for Comodo to simulate 3.8 to 3.9 updates testing.

1 - First update the updater
2 - With the updated updater, then it will update build 498 to 502.

You will have to reboot between each update. the build should be stable compared to first RC2 build.

    Cheers,
    Josh
