The info on the web site says that USB drives are supported but how does it not work.

Is the USB drive visible when in normal Windows? And are you trying to clone with the Acronis Bootable CD?

Try the trial version of ver 9 build 2302 - you may have better luck than I did. I would like to hear what result you get. It should at the very least be able to "see" the usb drive. BTW, have you actually tested the clone you did with ver 7 to see if the cloned drive will boot?

You might want to determine if the problem might be the result of the USB device being hooked to a USB hub instead of a port right off the mobo.

I know from experience that USB devices off of a hub do not behave exactly like those connected directly.

With TI9 b2302 installed and trying to restore an image from USB (taken under TI9) using the bootable rescue media full option, I also found that it didn't show my USB drive. yes I booted from a cold start with the USB drive connected.

I rebooted to windows as normal and checked in My Computer and it didn't show the USB drive there either. At that stage I started to panic a bit.

I checked under device manager and my drive was there with a big yellow question mark.

I disconnected the USB drive, booted from a cold start again from the recovery boot media and plugged it in to the back of my box just after I selected the full option again from the intial Acronis sreen. When it came up at the next screen my USB device was visible as drive 'B'.

I was then able to successfully restore the image to my system.

Don't know but it seems the recovery boot disk is either disabling my USB device or not identifying it at bootup.

I never had these problems with TI7 - I think TI9 still has some work to be done on it yet.

That was all on a W2k SP4 system btw.
