clearing "current items"

I'm refering to Win XP "current items"
right click on taskbar > properties > customize > current items
I know how to customize notification area (systray). but due to many installs/uninstalls I have more than hundred entries in "current items"some of them is a repeat like ATI icon is repeated 20 times, right click on each gives the options
hide when inactive
always hide
always show

no deleate option. actually there is no harm if i leave them, but would like to know if there is a registery tweak to clear "current items"
