Cleanmem

    Is it safe to clean file cache with cleanmem?

    What do you expect to gain? Buy more memory. Its better and cheap. No software can ever take place of hardware upgrades.

    I have 3 gb of ram, what exactly is file cache?

    It is safe to do so, however it will not necessarily improve performance.

    I think only users with low memory specs would find any use for cleanmem as in all other cases it simply isnt necessary.I suspect its snake oil like the rest of these "optimisers"etc.
    Why doesnt microsoft incorparate these sort of tools into the os?
    Just my thoughts.o_O

    What do you mean by cleaning the memory?
    The kernel frees pages as necessary, let it do the memory management.
