I used the "on demand" virus scanner ClamWin for years. Like many virus scanners, you can let the app update the definition files, or download them manually. Several months ago something strange happened. The definition files continue to be listed, but downloading is impossible. You get "Access Denied - Error Code 1020." https://clamwin.com/content/view/58/27/ I assumed ClamWin was dead. The last version I downloaded was 0.103.2 - 115MB. Apparently, ClamWin is not dead. There is a newer version 0.103.2.1 - 225MB. https://clamwin.com/content/view/18/46/ I found some posts at the ClamWin forum. Members were saying, "goodbye and good luck." I wasn't the only one that thought ClamWin was kaput. If ClamWin is dead, why are they spending money maintaining their site? If ClamWin is alive, why can't I download the virus definition files?
I tried downloading the definition files and the download works for me. However, from what I could find on the internet it appears that ""Access Denied - Error Code 1020." is an error generated by Cloudflare: https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/e...ubleshooting-Cloudflare-1XXX-errors#error1020
I tried downloading the definition files through an online proxy site. Didn't work (Access Denied). Cloudfare suggests sending a screenshot of the error message to the website owner. I uploaded the screenshot and posted a link at the ClamWin forum. No response from forum members. Maybe I'm the only computer user in the world with this problem. Not very likely, but it's possible.
