Thanks blacknight for info. I will test v5 soon. I want to see tests of cloud features.

How many pop-ups does D+ throw in this version? I couldn't stand them in version 3 and even V4 (which was said to be very quiet) threw 14 pop-ups just after installing it and then one or two for most launched applications. It's protection was great for free but I couldn't find it usable.

I have made a fresh install just now, after restart I got two popups from the firewall for Skype, no D+ alerts still.
Anyway I have been betatesting CIS5 and I can tell you you are not going to see many D+ poups, maybe some alerts from the sandbox.
The whitelist cloud makes everything easier.

D+ is very quite in this release. Got 1 skype pop up so far and I tested just about all my other programs looks like they are white listed. :)

i was thinking this morning to use comodo antivirus and the time machine 100% free and not by any scaners any more and still get a very solid protection all for free;) what do you guys think about my idea?i know some people likes to spend money on security software but why?when there is a free:D alternative:)

I was getting a serious problem with CIS v4 / Time Machine, with System restore, Backup etc. I hope that is solved now. Will give it a shot soon...

I had not installed 5v, but I read a question in Comodo Forum:

" Thanks for the great work. Only a question about Defense+: in 3 and 4 versions, in Execution Control Settings, we could specify and add the files that we wanted to be checked. Now in 5 if I understand all files are checked by default and eventually we can decide exclusions, is it ? " http://forums.comodo.com/news-annou...security-501626361135-released-t61661.45.html

Can some 5v betatester clarify it to me before I install ?

I dont get the question, checked with what?
You still can add exclusions in the "Execution Control Settings"

CIS 5 and Time machine actually work very well together. Some of the D+ pop ups give you an option to "Create an image with CTM". NOt bad for free. I actually liked the combo. It added a few seconds to boot time but it worked well.

Strange that the service.exe files are named differently for the both of us? And the difference in memory is some what remarkable as well.

do they plan to move into this whole yearly naming scheme permanently? i really hate when products are labelled by their year as if its a requirement to have a new flashy product year to year.

stick with version numbers please :)

Do you have any proof to that effect? Or is it just your feelings?

    Thanks.

i did bunch of tests with lots of real world nasties not just pocs:D and comodo did very well to prevnt infestation:thumb:
i did another test infecting my pc and then install comodo and detect and i was able to block alot of malware i mean all of them exept 1 litle bugger that cause comodo to crash like nothin:D
man that was very bad indeed.comodo couldnt even work in safe mode my solution was to revert my system back to earlier stage:) and then comodo was all ok:D
