    Interesting!

guest it would be good if you bring product failures/errors, etc up at the vendors forums. Great effort though, I can tell you did try and put alot of time into it.

Hi guest, interesting and thanks for sharing.

I have a request. Can you please try latest KAV and Norton?

KAV- as I am hearing off and on that it has very good removal abilities.

Norton- as it is given a very high rting always on pcmag reviews.

    Thanks again

Ok. Tonigth i will test KAV,Norton, A2, Cure it

i think CIS's problem is not remove ability.
    it can remove but froozen.
I think safe mode is not needed. This is bug. it has a problem with large number malware deletion.

Nod32 better than others, because it can delete many samples without restart, but its dedection rate not good for my virus collection.

Avira is my disappoinment. Prevx edge same as, restart and restart. Can not delete. i dont use them.

    sample senario

Are you just testing this for fun, or... o_O If not, I'd strongly suggest to not waste more time and reinstall the box from scratch. No way I would trust such infested system any longer.

Ah OK, have fun then. If you are bored, the new NOD32 v4 beta can create a rescue CD, I wonder how much of the junk would it be able to clean. ;)

Nice testing guest. I like how you get straight to the point if the programs are working or not. :thumb:

So far with your sample, Nod seems to have performed some good cleaning, while Avast brought the system to at least a workable/stable level.

    Please continue. :)

Very good read. Better than big testing sites. If I had to clean and infected system for someone it will be nice to know what works best in real world.

In the real world, in that state, it is almost certainly a (clean with bootable scanning cd) or format windows case.

You can't clean a computer inside windows if it is so unstable it is BSOD'ing and utilising 100% CPU. That isn't the antivirus programs fault.

What I think would be a good test on a highly infected machine is (I would try this in Windows first) if the results are poor try in Safe mode:
    1. Install A2 free, run scanner and clean
    2. Install MBAM free, run scanner and clean
    3. Install AV of your choice, run scanner and clean.

thanks for the testing, sounds like a lot of fun!:D

AVZ is more suited to manual curing... after generation of a sysinfo logfile a manual cure script will get rid of most infections. That is why it is built in to KAV/KIS 2009, 1) To provide program "danger" ratings via the HIPS/emulator, and 2) to provide manual curing capability for undetected or stubborn infections.
