Fair enough I mean...you can get 1000 of undetected FUD malware everyday but at the same time you cannot say if the AV blocks something related to the infection chain. In my opinion, still any sort of tests people make are just a bit of a glimpse and bares no relation to real life where really you wont see a bunch of undetected malwares via some USB stick or something.Uhm!

Thats why i rarely use VT because it's just a brain dead on-demand scanner. I prefer to toss malware in Comodo CAMAS or Norman Sandbox and read the sumamry myself...

Is the Norman Sandbox free? I can't seem to find the link. Every link I googled gave me a 404 page.

Thanks for the Anubis tip. I have a feeling Norman Sandbox for online analysis is gone.

Maybe this why people using CIS in their forums, come there to get malware removal help because they hit the so called "often whitelisted malware by CIS" even though that topic has 1000 of samples.. and CIS allowed it through and then the mods and the fanboys will say it is still your fault you probably clicked allow on some CIS pop up LOL  :D

I really have a laugh looking at that topic and seeing the way those pathetic fanboys defend their Lovely little delicate darling COMODO who cant do **** and make kaspersky and try to make other AV;s look lame.

I mean C'mon Mellih get your forum and fanboys out rather than spending time on your stupid hair gel,and get valkyrie and DACS in and show who is the boss :),this product has the most fanboys I have ever seen

CIS still hasnt lived up in v6 to my expectations,it was better in v5.9 and less vulnerable too in v5 rather in v6 there are bypasses being discovered regularly, though the bypasses arent apparent and reflecting the current crop of malware that spreads in the wild and those samples are detected by CIS AV,though still all in all a great program ;)

Still "pretty bulletproof" but NOT 100% and its being ruined and pulled down from improving by fanboys who are all over every stupid security forum and their pathetic forum staff who dont want CIS to improve but in turn what to make other "AV;s" looks lame LOL.

I generally extract the cis 64bit installer from the 144 MB download and have noticed that since the last two releases the option to not install the antivirus is no longer available (along with setting the Proactive Defense level). Why did they make that change? I prefer to have the option to install what I want to install. You now have to install CIS, reboot, then make changes via the uninstaller. A lot of bother if you ask me. I don't like having their antivirus forced upon me.

    Just a slight rant.

    Later...

I have always made a back up of the virus database and then downloaded the 30-40mb installer and then just import the database.:cautious:

For those only wanting the latest CFW installer - it's available from Major Geeks and Softpedia. (Firewall and Defence+ only)

Nope. Maybe they will make it optional in the future.

144mb is a lot just for a standalone firewall..!
same size as the entire suite.:)

Comodo is playing around with the AV database on their Servers. Detection of new samples pretty much nonexistent so far this evening.

Comodo av database needs to seriously go on a diet..Over 20m signatures and soaring.

If its a problem with the servers then its not really a bug with the software itself.

Yes, it is a bug cause submissions work without problem in v5.12.
Plus, it says that it can not find a file locally, on your PC.
    ;)

It's server based issue because it was greatly working in the past 2 weeks but don't worry I reported.

Does the comodo AV have guards against quarantining system files when set to automatic quarantine like bifdefender free?

    Re: CIS 6.2.282872.2847 Released!

I doubt that Comodo AV can detect a system file as malware because all of them has a certificate or are in the whitelist, so they are treated as trusted.
