Except for i dont use the "complete" package per-se i fun the firewall with the sandbox off and the Hips in a stripped down BB-esque version asnin it only alerts me to what the hips is set to moniter (direct disk accesses, driver loading ect.) Startuo folders/keys and the system32 folder. Now knowing.this how much would it reduce security by ising theit AV instead of avasts?

Rather you have got that absolutely wrong as a difference between avast and CIS.

Avast- Real World- sigs,evo-gen,filerep consituting of a good amount of automated technologies with some user dependency.Then where it comes to sandboxing it depends on dyna rules and it is NOT automatic Allow.It asks the user,now in my cases majority dumb users click close just because it looks more obvious like a button to click on.If not in sigs then filerep then evo-gen then sandbox.So if not in blacklist,then filerep question or autosandbox or the URL blocker gets it and we know what's coming along for avast this summer and further next year is gonna change things in time to come.Unless you are a dumb idiot and add something to avast exclusions you are calling for trouble or if you accidently click on continue exection thinking the file is legit and its not then you are in trouble,in my experience this is rare as to majority of the users they click close as a obvious button.

CIS-Real World- If not in AV and whitelist then sandbox,if in whitelist then allow and what will happen if the user is lucky to bang on a custom made malware and it bypasses CIS of course such cases are very rare but can happen.. and what if malware gets accidently added to CIS whitelist by cloud,then complete destruction and then what when CIS sandbox pop up appears with the info hidden in that arrow button and the dumb dangerous user click allow.LOL! Not saying CIS isnt good,its solid IMHO but when it comes to bypasses when it has cases where things can go wrong.Default Deny may be good but NOT 100% and in this case there are too many vulnerabilities of bypasses which may not be present in real world usage but cant say.

Its not a tech rant, its how CIS works.

And I meant CIS autosandboxes every unknown & Avast looks for suspicious behavior i.e suspicious behavior not found it allows i.e autosandbox popup doesn't appear for every unknown

Both generate popups & depends how users reply.

Whitelisted malware is a prob & they keep improving. Compared to auto allow AVs its less problematic.

Upcoming new technologies are promising in both.

Both CIS & Avast are very effective & my favs. I find CIS better for me.

CIS is designed to catch things that get passed avs. But if you are going to disabled sandbox, bb, cloud scanning, etc.. then yeah I would recommend a first tier AV.
