Today I got a browser pop up message from Chrome, saying I was using an outdated version. I was skeptical at first, never having received one prior to this. Maybe because I update pretty quickly after a new version is released? Or perhaps this dialog is a new practice? At any rate, I definitely did not click on the SCAN FOR NEW VERSION button... just closed the dialog and proceeded with my normal update process. Love the 34 security fixes in 67.0.3396.62.
Chrome stable version 67 has a new flag that has got my interest since it seems partly related to Site Isolation or at least the concept in general. I've still got more flags to compare and see what else is new. Anyway... chrome://flags/#pdf-isolation
@Trooper Cheers! Let me know if it causes any issues. This whole Isolation in general is becoming quite significant these days with respect to things like Spectre. Chrome team is looking into possibility of Strict Site Isolation in the future now as well.
Will do brother. What are some other security related flags to enable? I recently rebuilt my machine and forgot to check all of my flags that I had enabled.
See? Chrome definitely needs to have a cloud backup feature just like it has for other settings such as bookmarks, extensions, etc. I keep track of my flags settings in a little notepad file, bummer.
Here are some of my flags (copied from text file as backup): Code: perf chrome://flags/#num-raster-threads security chrome://flags/#enable-policy-tool chrome://flags/#enable-appcontainer chrome://flags/#enable-framebusting-needs-sameorigin-or-usergesture chrome://flags/#enable-gpu-appcontainer That is all that I've got at the moment. Quite often, the flags become built-in by default and therefore the flags become redundant and removed after time. I still have to go through some more hopefully later today to see what is new. Unfortunately I have to do it all manually and somehow need to figure out a way to figure out differences another way on Github or something. Maybe I'll do that first to save some time later.
Also if anyone is curious about Chrome/Chromium themes, the absolute best Dark Theme that I have ever found so far is: Link: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/minimalist-dark/cgkkkfadlakkgiiipeafiogaogdgfkaj On Windows 10 combined with the following flag: chrome://flags/#windows10-custom-titlebar
Sorry for the multiple posts... Chrome 67: wider Site Isolation roll out Link: https://www.ghacks.net/2018/05/30/chrome-67-wider-site-isolation-roll-out/
You're welcome. Yes, I believe that 4 is the max right now and 4 is my setting as well. Seems to make a good performance improvement on general page rendering.
FYI. Google Chrome Portable 67.0.3396.62 Stable (web browser) Released for the PA Platform, courtesy of PortableApps.com.
Thank you sir, I just enabled them all! Will keep you posted on any strangeness. Also checking out the dark theme kinda cool. Only downside is some of my extensions in the bar up top are now hard to see lol!
@Trooper You're welcome. One thing that you could consider about the dark theme and extension icons looking odd would be to hide some of those in the Chrome/Chromium menu. Right click and choose hide in Chrome menu. Luckily the only one I use (Windows Defender Browser Protection) seems to have an icon that looks cool whether it's a light theme or a dark theme. As a matter of fact, I think that one looks even better on the dark theme.
That's a good point. The main one I need and use every day is the 1Password X extension and it makes is difficult to see. Will play around with it for a bit. Question. You know the option in IE where you can set the browser to Check for newer versions of stored pages (Every time I visit the webpage)? Is there any way to force Chrome to do this?

Chrome 67 arrives on Linux, Mac and Windows with support for password-free logins It's the first version of Google's browser to offer WebAuthn support by default May 30, 2018 https://www.theinquirer.net/inquire...windows-with-support-for-password-free-logins
Unfortunately I am not aware of a setting like this for Chrome. There quite likely is a similar setting but I haven't seen any mention of it.
Same here. It was something that I was not aware of but seemed to be needed at my job. I guess the developers figured something else out so it is now not needed. Thanks for hitting me back!
