"C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --disk-cache-dir="/tmp/ram/" ...... This is what is use in my chrome shortcut so RamDisk will be used for my temp files. Starting with the last chrome update my chrome shortcut works once in a while but 90% of the time when i launch the chrome shortcut i get a spinning circle for 10 seconds and then nothing happens if the target is for --disk-cache-dir="/tmp/ram/"
You see a little icon in the adress bar where you can enable flash for that site. Flash is from now disabled by default in chrome
I've disabled policy template option and set shortcut switch and it seems that it doesn't work (I use last Chromium stable). But when I use same policy template setting, it works I also use whole path with \ instead of / in directory path - you can try it if that helps.
FYI. Google Chrome Portable 54.0.2840.59 Stable (web browser) Released for the PA Platform, courtesy of PortableApps.com.
i got around my shortcut launching problem by going into the icon and changing to run as administrator which brings up a UAC that i have to click ok then chrome will launch good without a problem instead of freezing at launch.
Well that's strange. IDK why it should run with admin privileges. This would make it much less safe browser...
Since this latest update I can't reorder the bookmarks bar and get the changes to stick. Anyone else? Any solutions? TY
If you run it as admin you will elevate Chrome's broker process from Medium level to High level: - Chrome run normally: - Chrome run with run as admin: Although target process run with Low and Untrusted level, I wouldn't let broker process run with highest privileges while browsing.
No issues here. Do you mean that you are making changes to the order of items within the bookmarks bar successfully, then when you re-open Chrome those changes are reverted? If that is the case, I'm wondering if the issue might be related to the Sync feature although I don't know if you utilize that or not.
hi when i uninstall an extension , does chrome perform a good uninstall (i mean delete all the files or regfiles related to the extension) ? or is like firefox ? thanks @Minimalist alist i use process haker , i haven't integrity , do you process explorer ? what does it mean integrity? thanks
Yes I use Process Explorer. You can read more about integrity levels here: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb625963.aspx Here is a document describing Chrome sandbox and how it uses integrity levels: https://www.chromium.org/developers/design-documents/sandbox
Chrome 54.0.2840.59: No more Adobe Flash Player? As announced earlier this year: Google is planning to phase out full support for Adobe's Flash software on its Chrome browser by the end of 2016.
Flash Player is still working here, although it was disabled because it was on old version (for some reason), but it just updated to the current version..
@Minimalist thanks i will check it about chrome and its extension does somebody know if I unisntall an extension does chrome clean everything or keeps preferences and other stuffs of this extension like firefox firefox installing extension could make it lazy , and the only way is create a new profile what's about chrome?
In PH you must check the box (by right clicking in any column). Integrity Level is the level of privileges and rights an process have: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb625957.aspx for example : from the lowest (safer) to highest (less safe): - Appcontainer : only Win8/10 metro apps or tweaked Chrome - untrusted : most applications ran in sandboxes (sandboxie, ReHIPS, etc...) - Low: usually used by internet facing processes. - Medium: common level of apps , processes running in SUA is usually medium - High : processes running in admin Accounts are usually at high levels, also level where UAC will alert you. - System: used by the core processes of the system - Installer: when you install a software, process of this level can uninstall. so basically the goal of a malware is to reach the highest Integrity level possible, gaining the most privileges possible. for example if you are infected by a malware while in Admin account , you just helped the malware in his job compared to SUA.
hi yes thanks but does it work like process explorer ,because for process hacker all my extension are untrasted and i 'm not under sandboxie , process explorer mostly are trusted
